Purpose

To enable you to develop and improve your skills in the Human Resources field, enabling you to increase your performance to meet and gain National and Professional recognition.


Aimed At

Individuals who are working within the purchasing function, at the following levels:

NVQ Level II - Suitable for Stores personnel

NVQ Level III - Involved in the day-to-day activities of the Purchasing Department

NVQ Level IV - Responsibility for design and implementation of the range of purchasing policies and procedures and determining the Organisation’s purchasing strategy and Budgets.


National Accreditation

Successful completion of this programme will lead to the appropriate NVQ Level listed for each occupational Level.

N.B. Gaining the NVQ Level IV will lead to Membership of Institute of Purchasing and Supply, the recognised Professional Body.

Remember, a successful award endorses your ability to successfully complete the job where it really matters – ‘in the workplace’.


Areas Covered

- Initial Diagnostic

A relevant Diagnostic helps you and us to determine where your experience lies against the National Standards of ‘best practice’. The programme will give you credit for what you are doing well and assist you to develop in the identified ‘gaps’ It will also assist in determining which level is most appropriate.

- Core Unit areas

A range of areas covered under this include:
Commercial input to decisions; developing effectiveness; exchanging information; implementing change.

- Supply and Contract Management

Determining conditions for supply; Establishing and maintaining sourcing requirements
Establishing sourcing arrangements; developing the effectiveness of procurement operations.

- Materials Management

Plan and reconcile inventory; define and establish production schedules; capture and forecast demand:
Manage material requirements
