Purpose

To enable you to develop and improve your skills in the Human Resources field, enabling you to increase your performance to meet and gain National and Professional recognition.


Aimed At

Individuals who are working within the personnel function, at the following levels:

NVQ Level II - Day-to-day administration activities in personnel activities

NVQ Level III - Involved in the day-to-day activities of personnel support

NVQ Level IV - Responsibility for design and implementation of the range of personnel policies and procedures


National Accreditation

Successful completion of this programme will lead to the appropriate NVQ Level listed for each occupational Level.

 

N.B. Gaining the NVQ will lead to Licentiate membership of Institute of Personnel Development, the recognised Professional Body for HR.

Remember, a successful award endorses your ability to successfully complete the job where it really matters – ‘in the workplace’.


Areas Covered

- Initial Diagnostic

A relevant Diagnostic helps you and us to determine where your experience lies against the National Standards of ‘best practice’. The programme will give you credit for what you are doing well and assist you to develop in the identified ‘gaps’ It will also assist in determining which level is most appropriate.

- Recruitment and selection

Placing adverts; developing job and person specs; assessment Tests; administration and interviewing

- Payroll

Calculating Employees salaries; making statutory/voluntary deductions; making payments; handling queries.

- Personnel policies and procedures

Advice to Managers and Employees on a range of personnel policies and procedures, including:

Grievance and Discipline;
Equal Opportunities/Disability/Diversity;
Voluntary Exit and Redundancies Procedures

- Health and Safety

Ensuring risks and hazards are controlled; accident investigation; monitoring and measuring Organisational Health and Safety performance
