The 360 Degree Appraisal is a powerful tool for self-development. It is often used as part of a developmental programme, but is equally valuable as a stand alone exercise.
Purpose:
To enable Managers and Leaders to identify areas for self improvement by providing them with focused, constructive feedback on their performance, from their Seniors, Peers and Subordinates.
Process:
The individual identifies Senior Managers, Peers and Subordinates or customers who are in a position to provide opinions and views of the appraisee's performance at work.
Each individual, including the appraisee, completes a questionnaire, which is returned to The Leadership Academy. Questionnaires are treated confidentially and the apraisee receives a fully rounded, focused appraisal, which is measured against the overall average responses for Leaders, at their level and against the mean population.
The report clearly shows how the appraisee believes they are performing compared to how others perceive them to be performing. It provides a clear picture of where improvements are required.
